Those are water suckers which are superior to sword suckers for many of the variegated banana.

Sword suckers tend to rot, especially the A'ea'e - Manini and for most growers success is based on growing it faster than it rots.

Water suckers tend to rot less and that's why I prefer sharing water suckers.

The major downside to a water sucker is the grower doesn't get a long time to figure out which substrate works best, basically if it isn't done correctly 'Game Over' quickly approaches. A sword sucker allows an attentive grower many chances to change substrates which a professional doesn't need.

All the professionals I work with prefer the water suckers.
