If not and If it were me on that plant, short of pulling the plant, washing off some medium and inspecting the roots visually, I would probably wait until it gets a bit bigger just to ensure it has produced enough of its own roots on its developing corm to take hold.
But that is just me, and again, I am not the expert around here.

i am thinking the same thig.
i am in florida, so if i were to be thinking to remove the pup i would already have it inground and would wait till the p-stem height was easily 4 ft. or better. but would have till september to do it.
