You're going to need to stick with orinoco (tall & dwarf), namwah (tall & dwarf), blue java, basjoo, mekong giant to have much success. Most anything else will do good from April to October-ish up where you are but will die all the way back every year. You'll basically be working with pups every year on cavendish and others like that.

I will say that my black thai, praying hands and viente cohol also completely survived the winter, even this past weekends cruel and unusual punishment which really pissed me off.
