Default Is Clove a Banana Flavor Enhancer?

In

Eugenol in Flavors, John Wright, Perfumer and Flavorist, vol. 40, no. 8, Aug. 2015, p. 16

it is recommended that eugenol be added to isoamyl acetate for imitation banana flavoring. Clove oil is about 90% eugenol. One or the other is often sold in drug stores as a tooth ache remedy.

Anyway, the following Google search gets 8,290,000 results.

Presumably, you should add enough clove to banana recipes so that the flavor becomes slightly sharp without being recognizable as clove.
