Hey everyone,

I've finally got bananas! I've had this mat of Dwarf Orinoco for 8 years or so and have had 2 blooms previously, but both were naked. Third time's the charm! When it eventually happened, I imagined I would get a few bananas on a single hand, but there are 2 hands of 6 so far with a third hand emerging now. So excited!


This particular plant was looking pretty sad in January as they usually do in the winter, so I chopped off the top so it could reset. A couple leaves came out and the latest one was a bit small but I thought it was just because it was getting going again. Turns out it was a flag leaf. Anyway, I never even noticed the bloom emerge because it kind of came out the side of the p-stem near the top and was hidden by a piece of stem. The first hand is actually mostly still stuck in the stem and I was wondering if I should do some delicate p-stem surgery and help release it. I've heard of people doing this before.
