Default Dwarf Cavendish questions

Hello all.

I have a dwarf Cavendish that i purchased back in August. It is about 2 and a half feet tall at this time. Other then getting behind on nutrients which resulted in some really small leaves the plant is very healthy looking to me. My concern is that it is putting out pups like no tomorrow. When i purchased it, it already had one very nice sized pup growing. Just days after getting it home a second one emerged quickly followed by two more. I have since removed and repotted the 4 pups and just today i noticed 2 more tiny pups have sprung up. Is this normal? Is this just really strong genetics or is something possibly wrong with the main plant?
