I bought the kaui sugarloaf pineapple from hawaii about 5 years ago -paid 25 bucks a fruit online. I have been growing the tops ever since. The leaves are smooth but have a few small spikes at the end. I've eaten 3 pineapple fruits from my plants - the fruit never compared to the original in size or taste. I'm going to try one more time with more acidic soil and more fertilizer.

I have one or two extra plants that I'm planning to leave outside this fall. Scaling back for now. PM me if you want want one at the cost of shipping....
