I have some Madake (Giant Timber bamboo, Phyllostachys bambusoides, not a species commonly grown in cultivation) which is not particularly cold hardy but survived here. I could tell it maybe wasn't the happiest this winter, but managed to hold on to its leaves, and had no problem sending out new growth later.
