Default Re: Richard's Guide for homegrown bananas

Richard's manual was very helpful, BUT did not go into bugs etc. For the first time in history, we have spider mites and they are viscous (in the greenhouses that is). We are moving plants outside now, but spider mites we fear will continue to be a pest. We used to use dursban, but that is a nasty chemical and it is locked away. Cold water sprays remove the d*** things, but they come back quickly (probably from eggs and such in the soil? or in the cracks in the leaf stems which do not get blasted with water.
Suggestions??
