when rooting the crown don't start it in water... get you a 1 gallon pot fill it with potting soil than put the crown in the soil lightly water the soil and around 4 to 6 weeks it should root....be sure not to let the soil dry out but don't over water it or it will rot

My guess is they got the ones that are drilled... One brand drills theirs so you can't grow your own, like they lose much money that way... greed.
I have a white jade, I think,(can't remember) it said it's commonly grown in Hawaii, sweet and coreless. It should flower this year as it was a rooted slip a year ago and it looks like it will, reaching for the sky... Not so big yet, though. In a 4 gallon clay pot.

Varieties I supposedly bought: Manzano, Cavendish, Blue Java, Sweetheart, and Gros Michel.
What it seems I actually have: Brazilian, Cavendish, Namwah, Dwarf Red, Gros Michel, Pisang Ceylon, Veinte Cohol and SH 3640, and American Goldfinger. FHIA 1, Paggi and FHIA 17... Always room for one more.
