Keep them in the containers the cool garage.
Your plants will tolerate cold ....but not cold and wet..... while in a container .
Do nothing if possible. Your plants will look in poor shape.
Stay the course.

Also do not let the container freeze...small plants in containers do not fare well when frozen. Neither do big ones..I know.

A few seasons under your belt with larger plants and you can leave them in the ground.

I hope your plants do well..
