Default Is my tree dead?

I overwintered my Red Abyssinian Banana Tree using similar instructions to those posted by others (cut back, bare roots) but it appears my tree is dead. I brought it out a couple of weeks ago and repotted it outside but I don’t see any sign of life. It looks brown and pretty dried out. Is it likely dead or still just dormant.?
