Oh I haven't given up. I'm pretty confident that most winters here are mild enough for the cold hardy varients. In fact, it wasn't until we were below freezing for a good 4 hours that I saw any damage. The night we were down there for less than 2 they seemed fine. But such events are pretty rare here.
