Default My banana trees reached 18' this year

Unfortunately, the weather this Nov. has not been that kind to them and every year it is getting more and more difficult to cut them back and protect them from the below zero temps..........I mulch heavily, cut them back and wrap their own leaves around the remaining 3' bases along with socks on the tops for the cut and then plastic garden bags over that. Then I put garden hoops on the whole thing and tarp/tent them all down for the winter with bags of leaves circling them all tied down of course. This process is most exhausting, but I have kept them now for over 10yrs and they are the talk of he town.
