That is a sign the corms have developed a fungus. The fungus will 'draw' water from the roots & corm making the wet root ball. You need to kill the fungus by washing the corm in bleach water and remove ALL the old soil. Then re-pot not need to sun dry. Also, continue to mist & folar feed the plants until new roots regrow.
