Default Banana leaf rotted before growing

I have a super dwarf Cavendish banana that I have been growing in zone 6 for about a year so far. I bought it a year ago when it was approximately 8" tall. It constantly grew through the winter, as I brought it indoors, and it is now at a height of 12". It stopped growing and produced two pups, I separated one pup from the mother plant and potted it. I then potted the mother plant in a bigger pot that is 12" in diameter. It has been a few weeks since I repotted it and the leaf that is still curled has turned brown and rotted. Will the leaf grow, and will I have to do anything for the plant to help it start growing again?
