Ii have really researched this condition and my opinion is it is caused by lack of fertilizer/water during the plants cycle. Especially the first half of its life! Mostly potassium. Banana leaves and pstem contains 40% potassium. Actual fingers are made of 60% potassium!! That's a lot. And it's hard to find organic potassium sources without using burnt ashes. Which can be very dangerous! Buy a bag of Murate of Potash! It's 0-0-60. Very very strong stuff. I never use it on small or potted plants! Start using small amounts and spread it all around the plant. About a 2' circle around the pstem. Avoid piles. Next water it in well!!

You may need nitrogen also. If so you may want to buy a good granular type with a ratio close to 10-0-20 as you can get. Mixing 10-10-10 with the MOP 0-0-60. There are calculators online to figure how much to mix to equal way you need! For fruit production I use the same as the professional plantations use. Granular!!

Good luck!!
Next time I hope you get a huge bunch!!
Burnt ashes can be very dangerous? Why?
I've been putting burnt ashes around my Dw. Orinoco which is fruiting.
