In the late November I dug out the plant, wrapped the rootball with very wet burlap then wrapped the burlap with a trash bag and laid it down in the garage and then in the end of March I put it back in the ground in the same hole. Through the winter I throw all compost in the hole and turn it biweekly. Didn't cut any leaves. I just watch for frost very carefully.
