Hi Everybody, everybody that knows Bananas better than me.

I have a Banana Tree in my back yard, I planted it about 24 years ago. I have only just decided to learn more about growing Bananas here in Houston, TX. After being a member here for a few weeks now, I will definitely work on taking care of this plant, and propagating it, to give to my 89 year old Father-in-Law, who has the Greenest Thumb I ever saw, and room in his large Garden, for full sun, and good well drained sandy soil.

I have gotten fruit off this plant, and it's spread of Pups, a few times, and the fruit is firm, tasty sweet. Without any help from me, it has not been productive.

I had to cut my green bunch today. The Weather here was cold, and now it's warm, and it looks like the small bunch of Bananas is starting to rot, so I cut, and hung them inside. I hope they ripen, before rotting.

Below is an old picture of a flower from a few years ago, I did not take one this year. I don't know what kind of Banana Tree it is, any info would be appreciated.
