Pinwheel Identification

I have some banana plants and one is producing. I read on here that the parent plant dies after fruiting but mine don't. Is there a group that will survive after fruiting? My neighbors has fruit and it is yellowing. Last year his did the same and the trunk collapsed but it only puts on 3 hands of fruit. Mine has 3 hands of bigger fruit and has had it on longer. I will try and post a few pics tomorrow. The fruit from the two plants are very different so they are not the same variety. Thanks for taking the time to read and post your thoughts.
