Thank you all. I learned to appreciate the beauty of nature from both my parents. My dad, Rest in Peace, would talk to me about what makes things grow, why the ugly land toad that lived in our garden was necessary (I was scared to death of that thing, huge, just huge and it would look at me like wanting to jump me?) Daddy would explain to me why the rocks in the brook were so smooth, it took many years of tumbling in the water, he would say. Ah, memories lovely to behold. In my grandmother's house (round thatch roof) for the kitchen lived a pet pig. I was scared of that too. I can still see the guinea hens through the banana trees and straw flowers and red geraniums ,heralding their way back home to eat and roost for the day! The smell of fresh brewed coffee was like an aphrodisiac. Mesmerizing.... of course, I was not allowed to drink coffee (only for adults), but I loved the smeall of the intoxicating aroma.
Have a cup?
