Having consulted with a few more researchers, there is only one 1st hand accounting of Casimiroa sapota. The description and photo plate are identical to Casimiroa edulis. All other mentions of Casimiroa sapota can be traced back to the original source. I believe it is a synonym of Casimiroa edulis.
