Default Re: How far from my fence should I plant?

Here's a picture:

The white fence is mine, and goes along the back and right side of the property. To the left is a wooden fence, and that belongs to my neighbor. My lot is 1/4 of an acre. My long-term plan is to have my back yard be focused on edibles and my front yard focused on wildlife (hummingbirds, butterflies, etc). But both are blank slates right now.

The neighbors behind me put up a trampoline with that ugly black net. When their kids are jumping on it they look down into our yard, stare at us, and look into our windows if the curtains aren't closed. They can also see down from the top of their swingset, and the adults can see us from their sunroom and that window. The fence is 6 feet tall, so I need something taller than that to block them out. I've been trying to figure out a privacy option that wouldn't break the bank. Then I realized if I'm buying these banana plants anyway, and I'm planting them somewhere in my yard anyway, and they're going to grow pups and spread anyway... why don't I use the banana plants for privacy and cover both bases. I was thinking maybe I could plant the dwarf varieties on the outsides where I don't have a privacy issue, then ice cream and mysore in the middle.
