Default Re: musa Itinerans va Itinerans wanted in Georgia

I tried Musa yunannensis but lost it one winter. That doesn't mean that it isn't cold hardy but I did lose it. I've also had a Musa thompsonii that I thought I had lost for a few years (lost in the weeds I guess) show up for a few years but it never got taller than a few inches and it didn't come back after the 2014/2015 winter (but it did after the colder previous winter). It's planted in a spot where a lot of plants do poorly and I've always wondered if a construction worker poured something toxic there back when we built our house 13 years ago. I also lost balbisiana for a few years which did great and had a 'Thai Black' struggle two years but it never took off and then died.
