Was it also windy? I grew an apricot "bush" (Manchurian apricot bushes are not) for the EX because he said he loved apricots; he did not and I hate them unless dried. It always flowered in February or March in the DC area which was long before the last potential snowfall. You'd think that would be the kiss of death but it nearly always did produce as long as cold/snow was not accompanied by wild winds.
