I have a Tall Red that member buddy gave me that gets 18 feet tall. It probably will not get that tall in my zone, but much taller than 7 feet. This year it will still fit through the door. Next year I don't think so. I will have to dig it up and lay it on its side in the garage or drag it under the house. If I get pups from it before then I might try both ways and see what works best. I think the most important thing to remember is, when it's cold and the plant is not growing, it doesn't need water. That was a mistake I made with my first plant. If it's not growing, the roots will rot with too much water.
