Default Re: What is the best fertilizer for bananas?

I just use LITTER...............

But I found that the best way to get thick Pstems............and huge Bunches is the way you do the pruning...............

Pups removal.........and selection..........

And the way you manage the Mat..............

Banana roots like the Litter................it runs just above the soil........and grows in the litter..............

A bit acid environemental...............full of Tanins............and humic acids..........

Pruning is the best way to get better plants..............

If you know how to chose the next plant...............among dozens pups.............you will achieve what you want..............

Without super fertilizing............

Just Litter and Pruning...............

The secret is Pup selction............

Donīt leave pups to grow large............because the wound in mother plant is bigger..................

You have to feel what pup is the best................

Pups are different from each other.............you can see what is the thickest.........and healthier...............

For exemple...........

In this mat...........from this mother plant I already removed like 6-8 pups............and just leave this one...........the thickest............the better positioned.............and the healthier of them all.................

It grows like crazy................withou fertilizing.............

Just the litter from my own garden.............grass...........and ocasionally some Ficus leaves that I pruned from the walls..................

I found that Pup selection is the key...............to get thick plants........

This is the Flower............(one can see the Ficus on the wall)............

And this is the Bunch...........

I remove the old plant too............completelly with the corm..........

Here if I leave the older plant after harvest.............the chances to get Cosmopolites sordidus is great................so I remove all old plants with the corm..........

And finally..........I affraid of chemical fertilizers........kkkkkkk

I donīt have much experience...........thatīs why Iīm affraid............affraid to over fertilizer...........

So..........I follow this concept.......
