I was using a foliar spray for my nanners made of calcium nitrate, and epsom salt (magnesium sulfate)mixed together to save time, and to avoid my normal fertilizer spraying days to not overdo it. My sprayer started clogging up and upon investigating, the water inside was cloudy with flakes of white material. I did a little research and it seems I just sprayed my entire plant collection with gypsum (calcium sulfate) water from the resulting chemical reaction lol (I know....some of you already knew that would happen lol). I bet they all have a powdery residue on them tomorrow. Interestingly though, after experimenting, I figured out if you mix each chemical separately with water till completely dissolved, then mix the two solutions together, the reaction does not appear to happen, so you still have magnesium, and calcium that is useful to the plants. Umm, just to test this, I am leaving the mixed solution out overnight to make sure its not cloudy tomorrow lol. An interesting chemistry lesson for me.
