You're probably overwatering it, but that can't be said conclusively w/out seeing a photo and knowing the cultivar.
Excessive amounts water can be very useful at times but it really depends on the cultivar.

This pup was orientated correctly and kept completely submerged for 337 hours.
The white colored roots are new growth and the black were the old roots.




These pups were kept in a full bucket of water for 351 hours.
