I have 3 potted vines growing up a shaded 6 ft fence until I figure out what to do with them. When the vine reaches the top I train it to grow back down - then let it grow up again naturally. My personal zig zag vines.
All you guys take heed ---
I'm too far north to grow these reliably. Meaning, the first close touch of frost and they are history. Down in south south FL they plant them at the base of big trees so they can climb. They like shade. Then there is the long drying out period of the bean pods. Then you can scrape out the insides and enjoy one of the greatest flavors on the planet. Yum Yum!
Same same for piper nigrum --- I'd love to grow my own black pepper. Cook with it in lots of stuff.
