I've had some in the past with mixed result, just got a couple of alocasia "borneo giant" and I'm wondering about what to do with them. In the ground or large pots to bring in.
You're in about the same climate as me.

I have the Borneo Giant as well and last year, with being heavily mulched and cut back to almost ground level, they did come back. Have not seen growth with those yet but I have pulled back the mulch to warm them up and dry them out. EBAY has those...not too expensive and I've had great luck having them shipped.
