Thank you Rob! That is a relief! Our Hamakua clay is notoriously deficient in phosphorous, made me wonder if the purple color could be an indication of low P, like it is in tomato plants. All of the sunset colored plants are quite orange/ red/ copper/ pink, unlike the burgundy tones of the Red bananas growing here.
