Somatic mutation: "sports". New varieties arise by genetic mutations within the somatic tissues (e.g., Williams from Dwarf Cavendish) or by breeding different varieties to create new genetic combinations. All your pups will be genetically identical, unless you get a somatic mutation, which is very rare.
