One plant has fruit and the third leaf down looks exactly the same as all the other leaves. The Namwah mat consist of five plants (not counting sword suckers) starting at 28 inches and up. The Namwah petioles (margins curved inward) were slightly different some have a small space between the margins and some do not, none of the margins were overlapping. One plant has a flag leaf and the third leaf down has no space between the margins. With my plants each variety generally has the same style and shape petiole.

Thanks for sharing I never thought there could be such a difference in petiole styles with the same plant.
Any time you're dealing with a small sample size, you really shouldn't expect your extrapolations to be completely accurate.
I had over a thousand feral Manzanos to choose from, but already knew that petioles vary on the same plant and on plants in the same mat.

I lost interest in petioles long ago because of the inconsistency with plantains.
