Default Re: Weird roots IMO

I have a sword pup that isn't growing very fast but has been there for 3 of the 4.5 months this baby has been in the ground. I've seen pictures of how pups grow so I was pretty certain these "out of the ground roots" would never become one. I was curious if it's a possible water pup so I clipped off one and put it in a pot; I assume I can't hurt anything by doing this and it really does have a potential "something" at the end. BTW, I only have maybe 2" of dried grass as mulch so it's really not much cover.

FL is very odd. I've had a winter squash die 3 times but has resurrected by forming roots on the runners; I have 3 viable fruits now. Stranger still I have 2 zukes I would have pulled out (dying from that stupid borer which is the KOD up north IME) had I not determined to spend this season (new climate for me) just observing. They've each started 2 new plants. My bush beans kept trying to be runners also.

Weird, weird. weird.
