I was thinking...hm, maybe Ginger, Sugarcane, or Bamboo. But in Kansas, growing wildly( meaning you didn't plant it...) I think its a grass too, Mitchel. Maybe Bermuda? Bermuda looks a little bit different than that but thats my guess.
