Hi banana13,
I'm growing an ice cream/blue java (pisang awak type) in a 30 gal smart pot. It's on its second growing season and is doing really well. I've wanted to repot to a 45 or 60 gal. pot, but the current pot is already huge. Awesome, beautiful plant that's a lot of fun to grow. If you've got the room for it and a dolly or hand truck to move it indoors come winter, it's definitely worth the effort. I haven't got fruit yet, but it's pushing 9 ft. of pseudostem height and is still going strong, so hopefully it'll flower by the end of summer. Dwarf cavendish and dwarf red are also great varieties. Best wishes and good luck!
Andy
