Wow, my method has become very lazy. I twist off the top, then let it sit around for a few days to a few weeks (I am lazy). Then I will peal back all the brown leafs until I get the point where I see nice green leafs and yellow center core with little roots already showing. I then push that right into a pot of dirt or right into the ground. I find that only about 10% of them die using this method.
