Default 6+ pups normal?

Hi

My lady finger banana is doing quite well. We received 230mm of rain over the last few days. I was inspecting them to see how they went which is good, bit of wind damage to the leaves, the soil is not muddy it all ran off quite well.

I have 6 definite pups coming up out of the ground plus another eye that appears to be growing into a pup which you can see in the picture. Is this normal?

I want to plant a couple elsewhere in the yard and give a few away so I want to let them all grow for a bit before removing them.
