It does seem like Dwarf Brazilian and Goldfinger are the two most likely possibilities, especially given that you got both from Tony. They are pretty similar looking plants, but it should be easy to distinguish the two based on what the inflorescence looked like. Goldfinger has a mostly "clean" rachis below the fingers, whereas Dwarf Brazilian has a "messy" rachis with retained bracts and male flowers. Check out the photos below. What did yours look like? Goldfinger also has proportionally longer and more droopy leaves with longer petioles. I wouldn't put too much stock in how soft or firm the fruit was -- that changes a lot with stage of ripeness -- but on average, DB is a bit more firm than a Cavendish, whereas Goldfinger is more similar to a supermarket Cavendish.
