If I was you, I'd just drop them into the ground. They are on the small side and easy to protect.
I'm a bit colder than you in the winter and I've kept my now 4' x 4' SDC alive with all its leaves intact by covering it with a couple sheets and a large cardboard box on the few nights it gets below freezing.
