And so they can ripen any time of year. But if you live in a zone where it gets below freezing in the winter and you don't keep your plants in a green house, you are going to have to get lucky and have one bloom in spring/early summer in order to get ripe fruit before the cold weather kills the leaves and fruit bunch.
