Aside from them being seeded (with rather large seeds), even if they flower you are unlikely to get any fruit to develop because of lack of pollination.
M. basjoo should not be considered an edible banana, because there are bananas which are grown specifically for the fruit (most bananas we are interested in), and M. basjoo is not one of them.
There are many uses for everything, but in this case just consider M. basjoo a purely ornamental plant.
