Violetto Artichoke is popular in southern Europe. The plants are available from better independent nurseries (
) here in the U.S. and the seeds are also available online. For my tastes, they are one of the best artichokes you can grow. For green artichokes, I prefer the Imperial Star over the other varieties; e.g., Green Globe.
