If the area you are in gets 'really' hot, is it possible to plant your 'nanners in an area where they get partial sun, or dappled sun (like under a larger tree) part of the day? I think as long as the ground doesn't get too dried out, it might work well - but I'm no expert since here in Hawaii it rarely gets in the 90's, and it generally stays humid with frequent rain.
