To remedy that, just cut a square window in your plastic and then cover it with a larger piece (3 to 4 inches overlap).
Stick that on with that transparent packing tape, solid across at the top and with smaller pieces to tack down the
corners on the bottom. You can then lift it up at your convenience (to peek from time to time at a thermometer, which
you might have hung at the plant) 
You may have to replace the bottom pieces after a few uses.
Tip: I am using 'bubble wrap' for my cover, after I uncover the heavy duty protection in spring, for better heat insulation.
