Re: Cold Hardy Bananas spotted at Home Depot
Hi, I'm also new to this website, I'm curious about overwintering my banana plant.. Also bought it at Home Depot in Coeur d'alene, ID... the tag says " Hardy Banana", Bananero Resistente.. I'm assuming that Resistente means Hardy... so I have no idea what it is.. it is about 18 in and already has 2 pups.. Are these similar to Cannas? If not, how do you take or remove those new shoots from the mother plant?? thanks karen

There used to be only two, probably (no variety name listed in the tag) the zebrina and the SDC and these will die back to the ground and sometimes never return.
