Default Re: Planting by a pool

Hi Greg,

I am glad to see you are back posting again.

I have a large mat of Orinoco planted behind the waterfall on our pool as well as a few High Color Minis in the landscaping that surrounds it.

My banana plants thrive there and help give a tropical feel. There are a few definite benefits to planting near a pool in Texas. The evaporation of pool water on hot days will cool the area and raise humidity slightly. In the winter the water is usually warmer than our night time low so it helps protect against brief cold snaps as long as it is not windy.
