I over wintered bare-rooted basjoos and ensetes in the basement. One of the
basjoos pstem suffered a little rot so I cut it back to green, and it hardened up nicely. Problem, which is more important if you only have one (1) choice of sun
or heat? Too cold in the garage and definitely still too cold outside. My ensetes kept their Pstems and a coupla leaves so they are in the garage getting sun on a window. The basjoos had to be cut down to the corm, sooo, to jump start them I can easily give them light in a cold garage or put them in with the water heater and furnace for nice warmth where it is totally dark.
