My little doggy tail cactus looks a lot like your big one from Turkey. Do you know the name?

I have had better luck basically just laying the succulent leaves on top of the growing medium and misting rather than watering. Even my Thanksgiving cactus joints grow better this way for me. The babies come up very teeny tiny and the "parent" leaf withers. By the time the leaf is totally withered the baby has made it's own roots and you can throw the withered leaf away. ~J
